How to delete your account

1. Open the Simonara app or visit simonara.app/delete-account
2. Sign in with the email and password used to create your account
3. Enter your password and type DELETE to confirm
4. Press Permanently Delete My Account

If you can no longer sign in (forgot password, lost device, or deactivated account), email support@simonara.app from the address on file. We will verify your identity and process the deletion request within 7 business days.

What is deleted

• Your account profile (name, email, password hash, profile picture)
• All people you've added to your vault (names, birthdays, interests, notes, relationships)
• Saved gift ideas, gift history, and recommendation activity
• Chat history with Simon AI and any drafted messages
• Reminders, scheduled notifications, and preferences
• Receipts and uploaded images
• Push notification tokens and device IDs

What is retained, and for how long

• 30-day soft-delete window: Your account is immediately deactivated and hidden, but the underlying record is retained for 30 days so you can reactivate if you change your mind. After 30 days, all personal data is permanently deleted from our production database.
• Anonymized analytics events (e.g., “a user signed up”, “a gift was clicked”) with no personal identifiers may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.
• Transaction and tax records required by law (subscription invoices, payment receipts) are retained for the period required by applicable financial regulations (typically 7 years), but they cannot be linked back to your personal profile after deletion.
• Backup snapshots are rotated on a 35-day cycle and overwritten automatically. Your data will not appear in any backup older than 35 days from the date of deletion.

Partial data deletion (without deleting your account)

You don't have to delete your entire account to remove specific data. Inside the app, you can delete individual people, gift ideas, saved messages, reminders, and chat history at any time from the corresponding screen. Deleted records are removed from your account immediately.
